International Freight Forwarding Services in Saudi Arabia

International Freight Forwarding Services in Saudi Arabia

Importing into the Kingdom or exporting to global markets means dealing with carriers, ports, documentation, and customs — often in four different places at once. Emaar Logistics handles all of it. As one of the freight forwarding companies in Riyadh managing shipments by sea, air, and land, we book the carrier, prepare the paperwork, clear the cargo, and deliver it to your door. Our global shipping and logistics network connects Saudi Arabia to major trade lanes in Asia, Europe, the Americas, and across the GCC — with a single point of contact from origin to final delivery.

Our Freight Forwarding
Services.

Sea Freight (FCL and LCL)

1. Sea Freight (FCL and LCL)

Ocean freight is ideal for high-volume cargo to and from Saudi Arabia, with coverage through Jeddah, King Abdullah, Dammam, Ras Al Khair, and Riyadh Dry Port.

FCL: Dedicated 20ft, 40ft, or 40ft HC container for larger shipments.
LCL: Shared container space for smaller shipments.

We also handle break-bulk, Ro/Ro, reefer, and OOG cargo.

Air Freight

2. Air Freight

When the deadline matters more than the freight cost, air is the answer. We move cargo through King Khalid International Airport (Riyadh), King Abdulaziz International (Jeddah), and King Fahd International (Dammam), with consolidated and direct options on major international lanes.

1. Express air freight — for urgent, time-critical consignments
2. Standard air freight — balanced cost and transit on regular lanes
3. Charter services — for oversized, high-volume, or project-critical cargo
4. Perishables and pharmaceuticals — temperature-monitored handling throughout

Land Freight and Cross-Border Forwarding

3. Land Freight and Cross-Border Forwarding

For regional trade, road freight often beats sea on transit time and air on cost. Our cross-border operations connect Saudi Arabia to the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, and onward — coordinated directly with our international and domestic transportation fleet.

Multimodal and Door-to-Door Shipping

4. Multimodal and Door-to-Door Shipping

Most real shipments use more than one mode. We combine sea, air, and road into a single routed movement with one waybill, one invoice, and one coordinator — from supplier pickup abroad to final delivery at your facility in the Kingdom.

Knowing Who Pays for What

The Incoterm on your purchase order decides where your responsibility starts and where your supplier’s ends. Getting it wrong is the single most common cause of unexpected freight charges. Here’s how the common terms work:

Incoterm Who Arranges Main Freight Who Handles Import Customs Best For
EXW (Ex Works) You (the buyer) You Maximum control over cost and routing
FOB (Free On Board) You, from port of loading You The most common import term — good cost control
CFR / CIF Supplier, to destination port You Simpler, but you lose visibility on freight cost
DAP (Delivered At Place) Supplier You Convenience, at a premium
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Supplier Supplier Fully hands-off — usually the most expensive option

Our recommendation for most Saudi importers: FOB. You keep control of carrier selection and freight cost while your supplier handles export formalities. If you’re unsure which term fits your shipment, our team will review your purchase order before you commit.

Final Delivery

Cargo is transported from the port or airport to your facility, or moved into warehousing for storage and distribution.

Documentation We Handle

Saudi customs clearance stops for missing paperwork more often than for anything else. We prepare, check, and submit:

Document Purpose
Commercial Invoice Declared value, buyer/seller details, payment terms
Packing List Contents, weights, dimensions per package
Bill of Lading / Air Waybill Contract of carriage and cargo receipt
Certificate of Origin Country of manufacture — affects duty rates
SABER / SASO Certificate of Conformity Mandatory for regulated product categories
Insurance Certificate Cargo cover in transit
Import License Required for restricted goods

All declarations are filed through the FASAH platform and processed in line with ZATCA (Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority) requirements by our licensed brokers. Full details on our customs clearance service.

Why Choose Emaar Logistics

Answers to Your
Questions.

A freight forwarder arranges the movement of your cargo on your behalf — booking carriers, preparing documentation, managing customs, and coordinating delivery. If you’re importing into Saudi Arabia and don’t have an in-house logistics team, a forwarder handles the parts of the process where mistakes get expensive.

Sea freight costs substantially less per kilogram and suits bulk, heavy, or non-urgent cargo, with transit times typically measured in weeks. Air freight moves in days and suits urgent, high-value, or perishable goods. For many importers the right answer is a mix — air for fast-moving lines, sea for bulk replenishment.

FCL gives you a full container to yourself, which is more economical once your volume approaches a container load and reduces handling risk. LCL shares container space with other shippers, so you pay only for your cubic metres — better for smaller or irregular orders, though transit takes slightly longer due to consolidation and deconsolidation.

Yes. Our licensed brokers file declarations through FASAH and handle ZATCA duty settlement in-house, so your shipment doesn’t get handed between two companies at the point where delays usually happen.

Transit typically runs 18 to 30 days port to port depending on the origin port, the carrier’s routing, and whether the service is direct or involves transshipment — plus clearance and inland delivery time on arrival. We confirm a specific transit window when we quote.

At minimum: a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or air waybill, and certificate of origin. Many product categories also require a SABER/SASO certificate of conformity. We review your documents before shipment and flag anything missing.

FOB works well for most Saudi importers — your supplier covers export handling and you control the main freight and carrier choice. EXW gives you even more control but means managing origin-country pickup and export clearance yourself. We’ll review your purchase order and advise before you commit.

Yes. We handle out-of-gauge, break-bulk, and Ro/Ro shipments, and coordinate heavy-lift movement from port to site.

Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdullah Port, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Ras Al Khair, and Riyadh Dry Port for sea and inland clearance; King Khalid International (Riyadh), King Abdulaziz International (Jeddah), and King Fahd International (Dammam) for air.

Send us the origin and destination, cargo description, weight and dimensions, Incoterm, and your target timeline. Most quotes are returned within 24 hours.
